HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 3

Requesting the commissioner of the West Virginia division of highways to rename that certain bridge which crosses Cheat River on Route 7, commonly known as the Cadell Bridge, as the "Preston County Veterans Memorial Bridge."

Whereas, Thousands of Preston County citizens, living and dead, have served our country and state in the armed forces of the United States; and
Whereas, There are presently six active chapters of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Preston County, with a total active membership of 794; and
Whereas, This magnificent body of heroes is an outstanding example of selfless service and sacrifice to country, state and community, and it is right and just to perpetuate and honor their memory as outstanding native sons and daughters of our state; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Commissioner of the West Virginia division of highways is hereby requested to designate that certain bridge located in Preston County and spanning Cheat River on Route 7, now known as the "Cadell Bridge," as the "Preston County Veterans Memorial Bridge"; and, be it
Further resolved, That the commissioner is requested to have made and be placed, at either end of the bridge, signs identifying the bridge as the "Preston County Veterans Memorial Bridge."
